about ishopmaverick

it's about memory, survival, and hope

My roots are in Hawai‘i. I’ve lived in Las Vegas, Southern California, and now the Pacific Northwest. Each place, each season of my life, carries memories I hold onto.

I poured my first candles in 2020, during COVID. For a while, I stopped — life was heavy, and I kept going through things. But this time, I want to be present.
I’ve battled my own mental health struggles and been a suicide prevention advocate for nearly two decades.

One More Light by Linkin Park shaped this journey, the line that stays with me: “Who cares if one more light goes out? I do.”

That’s why I started pouring candles again. Not for how they look or smell, but for what they mean. A flame can be a symbol, for memory, for someone we’ve lost, for ourselves when we need it most, or for moments worth celebrating.

ishopmaverick is for the ones still here.
For the ones who smile through it.
For the ones holding it together quietly.

I only pour a few at a time. Each candle carries a memory and when you smell it, I want you to be there with me.

And because this mission matters beyond me, 5% of every candle supports suicide prevention real people doing real work to keep the light on for someone else.

This isn’t just a candle shop.
It’s a reminder: you’re still here. And that matters.
